"Through this signature campaign we are making people aware of the intention of the State government in saving the criminals. We will extend the campaign to various parts of the State until Mamita gets justice," said Irasis Acharya, Odisha BJP Yuva Morcha president.

"We have also gheraoed SP offices across the State and shown black flags to the BJD leaders. We will intensify our protests until the Minister tenders his resignation or axed from the State cabinet," said Acharya.

Meanwhile, members of a Women's Right Organisation met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal seeking his intervention for a CBI probe into the Mamita murder case.

Social activists Namrata Chadha, Anjana Mishra, Preeti Dhal and others demanded an impartial probe into the case and urged the State government to clear the air about Minister Mishra's alleged involvement in it.

"We are not an investigating agency. We are not sure about the involvement of Minister Mishra in the case. We want the State government should come clean on the case. We want an impartial investigation into the case and demand a CBI probe. We met the Governor in this respect and requested his intervention," said Chadha.
