From the first look, it will be difficult for anyone to say whether it is an ordinary vehicle or a complete restaurant on wheels. Shakti Sahu, an engineer from Bhubaneswar, has come up with a unique convertible vehicle which transforms itself into a food-van with the pressing of a button.

Sahu has been able to modify the van into a mini-restaurant which can be parked at a very small space on the road. Claiming that it is one of its-kind convertible vehicle, Sahu has filed application with the Guiness Book of World Records, Limca Book of Records and India Book of Records.

"We have named it convertible van as its look is completely different when moving on the road and when stationary. It took almost four months to give a completely new look with all the necessary modifications to the vehicle," said Sahu.

At present, there are several food vans running on the streets which often violate the prescribed norms and guidelines. The chances of accidents are also high due to illegal modification of the four wheelers. However, Sahu claims that his convertible van's modifications are completely in accordance with the existing rules and guidelines and approved by the RTO.

An international-brand bakery company has ordered to buy the convertible van designed by the Bhubaneswar-based engineer.
