Their family had already given up hope of their children being able to see the beautiful creations of the Almighty. But, Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal appeared in their lives as a Godsend. And what happened was no short of a miracle for them.

Shankar Das, Rajesh Mallick and their respective parents literally don’t have words to thank the Governor for making their lives colourful.

The incident that came as manna from heaven is the Governor’s visit to their school.

On August 10, 2022, Governor Ganeshi Lal visited to Municipality Blind School in Kendrapara. During his stay there, he interacted with the students. Later, he directed the district administration to get the students’ eyes tested and take steps for operation.

And, this has brought a huge change in the lives of Shankar and Rajesh. “After the operation, I am now able to see everything. This has been possible only because of the Governor,” said Shankar.

Rajesh said something similar to Shankar. “My happiness knows no bounds as I am now able to see the beautiful world. I am thankful to the Governor,” said Rajesh.

“My son was visually impaired. So, I was sending him to a school meant for the blind. Now that my son is able to see everything, I am very happy. This has been possible because of our Governor,” said Rajesh’s father, Laxman Mallick.

Informing about the incident, which later proved a lot for the two students with vision impairment, Prabhas Chandra Das, district social security officer, Kendrapara said, “The Governor had visited the Municipality Blind School on August 10, 2022. Following his direction, we took 12 students to a hospital in Bhubaneswar. Four of them were found to be eligible for surgery. Two of them have so far undergone the operation, and are now doing well.”
