The Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Sunday took a dig at the Odisha government, asserting that the state lacks a model of ‘mature governance.’

Speaking to media on the sidelines of  ‘Swachh Teerth Abhiyan’ at Lingaraj temple, the MP said, “The governance model followed in Odisha seems to have no maturity. Governance needs maturity and efficiency.”

Without taking the name of any leader, Sarangi further stated, “Who are advising the government should be removed. All know what happened to Arpan Rath which was taken around the state to collect rice and betel nuts ahead of the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama project. Now irregularities were committed in the recruitment of junior teachers. What do such issues reflect?”

She added that such lapses point to the fact that the governance model is a failure one and the person who is advising the government needs to be removed to bring in efficiency and maturity.

However, no reaction from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has been received.
