The busy street of Niladri Vihar in Bhubaneswar was rattled on Friday evening after two bike-borne miscreants allegedly hurled bombs at a parked car.

As per reports, the miscreants wearing helmets came on a Pulsar bike and hurled two bombs at a parked car before fleeing the spot.

Fortunately, nobody was inside the car. So there were no injuries reported in the bombing. However, the car was damaged in the attack.

“A Brezza was parked near a soup stall. The miscreants threw a bomb at it. They threw another bomb at it as well, but a Skoda came between them and the bomb hit the second car. Then they fled the scene,” said an eyewitness.

“I chased them for around 200 metres but they threw the bag towards me. I slowed down suspecting another bomb in the bag. But thankfully there were no other bombs. I called the police who arrived here immediately,” he added.

Following the bombing, Chandrasekharpur police arrived at the spot and began a probe into the matter.

While the bombing is suspected to be a fallout of past enmity or business rivalry, the exact reason is yet to be ascertained.
