The tentative answer keys believed to be of the special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) have reportedly gone viral on social media shortly before the commencement of the examination in Malkangiri district on Monday.

The viral answer keys are said to be of Set A. Notably, there were three sets namely Set A, B and C. However, district education officer (DEO) Manas Jena said the authenticity of answer keys is being verified.

“There were gate and internal checking of the candidates. I have no information about the incident nor have I seen the viral video. I just came to know about it from you. The observers are verifying the authenticity of the viral answer keys. If the allegations are proved to be true, necessary actions would be taken,” said Jena.

However, after the examination, the answers to the questions and the answers which went viral were verified and they matched. So, it can be said that the viral answer keys were that of the questions of the exam held.

Meanwhile, Malkangiri ADM has visited the centres and an investigation is underway to trace the source.

It is also not yet clear whether the answer keys were made viral from Malkangiri or from somewhere else.

The question is now being raised that how such a thing has happened when the exam is being conducted under tight security.

During interaction with OTV correspondent, the candidates expressed their disappointment as they had laboured hard for this exam.

The Special OTET for both the categories (Paper I and II) of candidates is being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha at various centres across the state today. While the first sitting for Paper I was held from 8 am to 10:30 am, the second sitting for Paper II is underway. It started at 12 noon and will continue till 2:30 pm.
