While construction of barrages across Tel and Udanti rivers by Chhattisgarh is seen as a serious threat to Odisha, State Water Resources Minister Raghunandan Das on Thursday said there is no problem in the construction and told media persons to go and stop the work.

On being asked by reporters how Chhattisgarh is carrying out so many constructions one after another, Das said, "Why don’t you go and stop the work? What can we do? Are they carrying out the construction activities in our State?"

He further said Chhattisgarh didn’t start the barrage work on Tel and Udanti rivers recently. "What’s the problem (if Chhattisgarh is constructing barrages)? We have moved the tribunal and it is yet to take a decision," said the Minister.

"We will take action only after the Tribunal delivers its decision on the matter. We have full faith in the judicial system and hope, we will get justice. There is no point in taking the law into our hands now," he added.
