The Bharatiya Vikash Parishad on Friday moved the Orissa High Court, demanding Enforcement Directorate (ED) enquiry into the alleged high-profile blackmail case and sex scandal involving several political bigwigs and lady blackmailer Archana Nag.

With Archana’s crime syndicate laid bare, her journey from rags to riches has become an open secret. Her properties include a palatial building, luxurious cars and several other costly possessions.

In its petition, the BVP pleaded before the high court to issue a direction for investigation by the ED.
“I am hopeful that the High Court will consider our petition and issue a direction for enquiry by the ED. The necessity of ED enquiry arises because several ministers and leaders of the ruling party are involved in it,” informed Subrat Das, petitioner.

In another development in the same case, the lady blackmailer moved SDJM court in Bhubaneswar seeking an anticipatory bail. Archana attended the hearing through video conferencing as her advocate was yet to be finalized.

It is not yet clear on what ground Archana has sought bail.
