De-addiction warrior & anti-drug activist, Dr. Md. Imran Ali received the prestigious Shambhavi Puraskar for the year 2023 on Thursday. The award was presented to Dr. Ali by Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Member-HR, Capacity Building Commission of Government of India.

Dr. Ali is the founder of the Salaam Jeevan, a trust working for Thalassemia, cancer awareness, prevention of tobacco & drugs and welfare of children & PWDs. Ali has dedicated himself to the cause of de-addiction, and several campaigns like Answer To Cancer, Drugs Free Childhood, Mission On Wheels (for differently-abled persons), etc.

Apart from that, he has also been working relentlessly for a tobacco-free society and substance abuse prevention in Odisha.

An eminent panel of jury members unanimously selected Dr. Ali for the award.

The prestigious Shambhavi Puraskar was instituted in the year 2014 by the Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF), the CSR wing of IMFA Group (Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd). The objective of the award is to recognize emerging social catalysts and thereby inspiring more citizens to act as agents of change.

The Shambhavi Puraskar carries a citation and cash award of Rs. 2,50,000

Moreover, the 'Shambhavi Jury Commendation Certification 2023’ was conferred upon Bipin Bihari Panda of Sambalpur, Odisha for his selfless work, compassion, and courage in helping those people who have lost their own identity and been abandoned by society.

The 'Shambhavi Jury Commendation Certification' award carries a citation and a cash award of Rs. 50,000.
