The untimely demise of Power Star of Sandalwood left everyone in grief and fans are yet to get over the tragedy.

A Glimpse into Appu's Personal & Professional Life

Puneeth Rajkumar was born as the youngest son of actor and matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar on 17th March 1975 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He began his acting career as a child artist in 1980 Vasantha Geetha. Further, he went on to work in several other movies. 
For his praiseworthy performance as a child, he won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in Bettada Hoovu. He also won the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist for Chalisuva Modagalu and Eradu Nakshatragalu. Later in 2002, he made his debut in the lead with Appu. In his illustrious career spanning over three decades, he worked in around 32 films. He has been decorated with several other prestigious awards along with the highest civilian award, Karnataka Ratna, conferred posthumously.

On 29 October 2021, Puneeth complained of uneasiness to his wife Ashwini. He was rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru. However, he died on his way to the hospital. The reason for his death was declared to be heart attack. He passed away at the age of 46.
