Mrunal Thakur has been in the news constantly these last few days either for her throwback video dissing out media for following star kids and neglecting her or for her stunning look at the Filmfare Awards 2024 . Being an outsider, the Super 30 actress had to work a lot to get the kind of roles she was looking for. During her journey of around a decade now, Mrunal Thakur faced lots of ups and downs and even criticism for her looks and body shape.
Opening about the same, the dusky beauty said during an interview said, “When I go for my workout, some gym trainer points out at my butt. I say that’s your problem, not mine. This is my strength; people pay to get such shape, and I have it naturally. If I am embracing it, what’s the problem with you?”
She strongly believes that Indian women should embrace their curvaceous and heavy body shape and there is nothing to be ashamed of it. Mrunal Thakur said, “There are certain things about your body type which you can’t help. I don’t understand why Indians have this habit of discriminating against naturally curvaceous and voluptuous women. Why are they looked down upon?&rdquo
She even asked why it took Kim Kardashian to show people how lovely a curvaceous body looks. She strongly emphasised that people should learn to own their bodies and eat healthily but not at the cost of jeopardizing their health. The Jersey actor signed off saying, “I think I am just owning myself. I own my thick thighs and I have no regrets. And If I don’t, you shouldn’t have it either.”
What Mrunal Thakur has said is indeed very true. Instead of taking a cue from celebrities and trying to look pencil-thin, women must embrace their body type and dress accordingly to highlight their strong points. Post Sita Raman and Hi Nanna, Mrunal has become one of the biggest heartthrobs of the young generation and will be next seen with Vijay Deverakonda in Family Star.
