South actor Vijay Deverakonda has forayed into Bollywood with Puri Jagannadh's Liger which also stars Ananya Panday and Mike Tyson. However, it seems like the stars are not in his favour as the movie has been dubbed by many as a disaster.

Vijay, who enticed movie lovers with his spectacular performance in movies like Geetha Govindam, Dear Comrade and Arjun Reddy, failed to mesmerise the movie lovers who had pinned high hopes on his debut movie. Even fans had high expectations from the director as his back-to-back movies bombed at the box office and anticipated Liger as a comeback for the director too.

While the internet is flooding with a lot of negative reviews, social media is abuzz with memes and cynical comments against Vijay and Liger. Meanwhile, a video has emerged on social media that shows a theatre owner expressing his anger against Vijay.

The video uploaded on the Twitter handle, Filmifever shows Manoj Desai, Executive Director of Gaiety Galaxy & Maratha Mandir Cinema, targeting Vijay for his earlier statement on calls of boycotting Liger by social media users.

Desai said, "First of all, I would like to say the hero, Mr Vijay, it seems, you have become arrogant, 'Watch the movie or if you don't wish to then don't watch', haven't you seen its impact. If the audience will not watch, see what Taapsee Pannu, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are going through."

He continued, "If you want to see your situation like theirs, better you work in Tamil and Telugu, and also you can go for OTT as there are several good subjects on it. Leave theatre and limit your work to those platforms."

Desai went on to add, "Why are you showing smartness by saying 'Boycott our movie'? People won't even watch on OTT. Such behaviour of yours has put us in trouble and impacting our advance bookings. Mr Vijay, you are anaconda not 'Konda Konda'. You are talking like an anaconda. 'Vinaash kaale vipareet buddhi', when the time of destruction inches closer, the mind stops working, and you are doing that. anyways, it's your wish."

"One should think, what will happen to my producers, distributors, and what will be the condition of my co-workers including technical team. Why such blabbering? Taapsee did, she faced the worst scenarios. Now you are doing it, do you feel good about it? I have multiple times said this, stay away from politics and see how you become successful," Desai said.

"I had high expectations from the movie, but such statements during the interview have had harsh impacts. One shouldn't do this and never pay heed to hashtags," he added.

Desai also mentioned that the production banner had asked to start advance booking, but they later informed over a phone call that the movie would not be screened on single-screens on Thursday, and they need to hit the screens on Friday.
