Multiple actors from the South movie industries have set a new trend and are ruling the Indian movie industry now. The list of actors includes Prabhas, Yash, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, et al. However, an A-listed Bollywood director has something else to say. As the B-Town director claims, people don't know Yash or Allu Arjun till now.

Though such a statement seems to be awkward, the popular helmer has his own reason for such an assertion. None other than the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' helmer Anurag Kashyap has made the statement.

During an interview with Baradwaj Rangan, he said, "The two actors, that still people don't know names of but were big stars is Rocky Bhai and Pushparaj. And by the next 3-4 films, if they are consistent, people will start speaking their names. They will know, he is Yash.. They will know he is Allu Arjun."

He went on to add, "But when we go to the small towns, they know Pushparaj and they know Rocky Bhai, because, Rocky Bhai is a much bigger star after KGF 1 in smaller towns, that is why KGF 2 went high hype."

On the other hand, Rangan said, "I said this earlier in an interview when I saw KGF 2, one day after watching a Vijay film. Of course, Vijay's film gets all the whistles, and there is a huge scream. I was not prepared for that kind of reception in Chennai for Yash... for KGF 2. Because KGF 1 is the only movie that has come before and people were going mad when Yash's name appeared on the screen. I was like wow."

Kashyap's take on movies 'Then & Now'

In another interview with PinkVilla, the 'Black Friday' director gave another stirring statement while comparing the Indian movies 'Then and Now'. Expressing his thoughts about actors, Kashyap said, "The actors nowadays are turning 'real believable'. There was a time when we accepted 'overacting' as acting and today we are referring to it as overacting."

"Everything was larger than life, but, things are getting more rooted now. If larger than life, we really have to go the Rajamouli way otherwise don't be larger than life. Then you are faking it," he added.

Kashyap is widely appreciated for his movies like Black Friday, No Smoking, Dev D, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Shahid. Moreover, India's first Netflix Original Series, Sacred Games, a crime thriller was co-directed by him. Even, his romantic drama Manmarziyaan created a buzz. His latest release is the mystery drama flick, Dobaaraa, starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati.
