Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is currently shattering box office records. The blockbuster movie has already amassed Rs 228.9 crore in five days and it continues to spell the magic at the box office.
Going by the trend, many critics are of the opinion that it will beat the collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, the highest grosser of this year. Although critics are divided over the speculations, the rivalry of Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan dates way back to the days of blockbuster movie Darr.
The 1993 blockbuster Darr was the turning point of SRK’s career although he played an antagonist in the movie. However, the film’s main lead Sunny Deol had a very bad experience and vowed to never work with Yash Chopra ever again as he felt his character was overshadowed by SRK even as he was the hero of the film.

Deol was unhappy with filmmaker Yash Chopra for giving more prominence to Khan’s character who was a newcomer back then. This hurt Sunny so much that he did not speak with SRK for 16 years and never worked with YRF.
Now, after so many years, the two actors are once again locking horns (though indirectly) with each other in the form of Pathaan and Gadar 2. While Gadar 2 is likely to break the records of Pathaan, SRK is now all set to make another record with his upcoming movie Jawan.
Meanwhile, a hilarious meme of Sunny Deol and SRK has taken over social media. A memer has shared the video (a scene from the movie Darr) that shows Sunny Deol as Gadar 2 chasing SRK as Pathaan while Akshay Kumar OMG 2 gets trampled in the process. While there is a fierce fight between Gadar 2 and Pathaan, Jawan turns out to be the winner.
