Didn’t even know who Prithvi Shaw is, Sapna Gill tells court; sent to police custody till Feb 20

Social media influencer and Bhojpuri actress Sapna Gill, who was arrested for allegedly attacking cricketer Prithvi Shaw and vandalising his car, was produced before a court on Saturday.

The Andheri court sent her to police custody till February 20. Sapna, on the other hand, told the court that she didn’t even know who Prithvi Shaw was.

As per ANI, Sapna said, “My friend had asked him for the selfie. I didn’t even know he is a cricketer. We were only two and Prithvi Shaw was with his eight friends. It’s all wrong that they had food in the hotel, we were partying in the club, and he was drunk. The police asked us to end the matter.”

Meanwhile, Sapna’s lawyer argued that Prithvi Shaw is a habitual drunkard and a repeated offender.

“Sapna didn’t say anything like give Rs 50,000 and end the case. There is no proof. Sapna is an influencer and has enough money. Prithvi Shaw got his complaint registered through his friend after 15 hours… why did he not do it on the same day?” the lawyer argued.

He further added, “Today we put our stand in the court that the allegations leveled by Prithvi Shaw are all false. In the next hearing, we will demand judicial custody of Sapna and then appeal for bail.”

Worth mentioning, Sapna Gill and her friends allegedly manhandled Prithvi and vandalised his car windshield with baseball bats outside a hotel in Santacruz area of Mumbai following an argument over selfies.
