  • Indian actresses like Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai walk the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival every year.
  • These celebrities represent their endorsements on the red carpet.

Cannes 2023 is here and like last year, this year as well a long list of Indian celebrities are walking the red carpet at this International Film Festival. While all-time favourites like Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are definitely a part of the event, a few other Bollywood stars like Sara Ali Khan , Anushka Sharma, Mrunal Thakur, and many more are making their debut at Cannes this year.

But many people are perplexed as to why actresses who do not have any releases or screenings at Cannes Film Festival 2023 are invited to walk the red carpet. Over the years Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas , and Sonam Kapoor have been constant at Cannes even though their movies have not been on the list for screenings. It is because they walk the red carpet for the beauty brands they endorse worldwide.

Cannes has a partnership with Chopard and L’Oreal Paris and these Bollywood beauties are the brand ambassadors of these labels. That is why even when none of their movies are being shown at Cannes, they are invited to grace the red carpet every year. So, much attention is given to the way they walk and dress on the red carpet at Cannes.

Surprisingly, all these activities in no way have any connection with the actual film festival, the screening, or the competition between the films.

Cannes Film Festival 2023 ticket price

This year the film festival will be held from May 16 to May 27. It is usually open to those who have accreditations like professionals from the film industry and journalists. Those who have badges or parallel sections to the festival can get an entry by buying tickets ranging from INR 5.1 lakhs to INR 20.5 lakhs.

The arrangement at French Riviera Film Festival offers Festival Accreditation, Market Accreditation, Press Accreditation, and Cinephile Accreditation. The holder of Festival Accreditation gets to attend official activities, and screenings, and visit venues like Riviera, the Palais, and Village International.
