Janhvi Kapoor on being part of potential 'Mr India' sequel
Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for an exciting slate of upcoming movies. She will soon be seen in the thriller Ulajh. Additionally, she has several other projects in the pipeline including projects with South superstars Jr NTR and Ram Charan promising to showcase her versatility and talent on the big screen.
Recently the Dhadak actress addressed whether she would like to feature in ‘Mr India 2’, a sequel to the 1987 cult classic ‘Mr India’ starring her late mother Sridevi and uncle, Anil Kapoor, in lead roles and produced by her dad Boney Kapoor.
Janhvi speaking to Pinkvilla, mentioned that she has never outright rejected a film because she trusts his judgement completely. She emphasized that she has never pressured him to include her in his films, as she prioritizes being his daughter over being an actress. Janhvi wants him to make decisions that are best for his business and movies, and she has never asked him to cast her in his films.
In the interview with Pinkvilla, Janhvi shared also her opinion on whether there should be a sequel to the film.
"Mr India is one of the best films to have come out of Indian cinema. I don't know if a film like that should ever be remade or touched again. I don't know what the plans for that are. Again, I think the makers know best. Whoever the director would be, he will know best. Something as pure as that, you can't enforce things on that," the Bawaal actress said.
Last year, Anil Kapoor featured as ‘Mr India’ for an advertisement. At that time, Boney had hinted at a sequel, sharing a video on X and stating, “Work in progress for a big screen appearance. #MrIndia #MrIndia2 @AnilKapoor.”
