A horrific video of two women being paraded naked on road by a group of men in Manipur has drawn massive condemnation and calls for action.

The two women were brutally gang-raped in a field, just 35km away from Manipur capital Imphal. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage.

Meanwhile, many Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh have broken their silence on the gruesome violence and called for strict action against the culprits.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the Khiladi Kumar wrote, “Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again.”

Similarly, actor Riteish Deshmukh wrote, “Deeply disturbed with the visuals of the atrocities against the women in Manipur… I am seething with anger… no man should go unpunished for such crime. Attack on the dignity of a woman is an attack on humanity itself.”

Meanwhile, PM Modi has said that his heart was filled with anger and pain and promised action.

“The incident is a shame for 140 crore people of India and be it Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh or Manipur, no culprit will be spared in any corner of the country,” said PM Modi.

Moreover, the Supreme Court has directed the Union and State government to take steps in this regard.
