The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked universities and colleges to implement syllabus of Cyber Security course at Undergraduate and Post Graduate level. The syllabus of Cyber Security course was launched by UGC on the occasion of Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas on October 6, 2022.

As per UGC, the syllabus aims to create awareness and create more responsive and responsible digital citizens which are key overall healthy cyber security posture and ecosystem.

In its letter to all vice-chancellors and college principals, the UGC has asked them to take necessary steps for implementation of the syllabus of Cyber Security Course at Undergraduate and Post Graduate level in all the streams.

Syllabus of cyber secuuurity program at UG level: Introduction to cyber security, cyber crime and cyber laws, social media overview and security, e-commerce and digital payments, digital devices security, tools and technologies for cyber security.

Practicals: Basic checklist, privacy and security settings for social media platforms, security patch management, Wi-Fi security management in computer and mobiles among others.

The cyber security syllabus for PG students: Overview of cyber security, cyber crimes, cyber laws, data privacy and data security, cyber security management, compliance and governance.

Practicals: Preparation of password policy for computer and mobile device, listing out security controls for mobile phone and implementation of technical security controls in personal mobile phone and others. For other details, visit the official UGC website or click HERE
