Every year thousands of aspirants appear for the UPSC Civil Services exam after months of rigorous preparations and hard work. However, only a fortunate few succeed and become IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS officers.

Today, we will talk about IAS Tejasvi Rana who cracked UPSC without any formal coaching and went on to secure AIR 12. The remarkable journey of Tejasvi is very inspiring and can be a source of inspiration for thousands of other Civil Services aspirants.

Hailing from Kurukshetra, in the state of Haryana, Tejasvi was a very bright student from her school days. After her intermediate, she sat for her JEE exams as it had been her dream to pursue engineering since childhood, a report in DNA India said.

She passed JEE with flying colours and got into IIT Kanpur. It was during her IIT, that she developed an interest in UPSC. Tejasvi decided to begin from scratch and thoroughly covered NCERT texts from Class 6 to Class XII.

She then started by carefully examining the UPSC curriculum to strengthen her foundation. She made her schedule better and studied as much as she could every day. She practiced writing answers and evaluated her prep work by taking mock exams. She self-prepared by making her own notes and worked towards her goal using the internet.

Tejasvi took the UPSC exam for the first time in 2015. Although she succeeded in the preliminary test, she could not clear the Mains. However, the failure did not deter her self-determination. She was firm and prepared more thoroughly.

Her hard work paid off and she secured an AIR12 in 2016. She is now happily married to IPS Officer Abhishek Gupta.
