From tutoring kids to filling in as a receptionist, she tried her hand at several part-time jobs. She had her fair share of difficulties. Her journey from being a tutor to receptionist and finally an IPS officer is an inspiration for every youngster.

Well, we are talking about IPS Pooja Yadav from Haryana who secured an impressive AIR-174 in 2018. The brilliant mind completed her primary and secondary education in Haryana itself before earning her M. Tech in Biotechnology and Food Technology.

However, the journey wasn’t a cakewalk for Pooja, as her family was not in a particularly good financial situation. She worked as a receptionist and tutored students to pay for her own educational expenditures. Thanks to her hard work, she later got an offer to work in Canada and then in Germany for a brief period.

However, Pooja apparently realised that she was only contributing to the development of another country rather than her own country India. So, she decided to fly back to India and begin her UPSC preparation.

No Looking Back Even After Rejections

Despite initial rejections by her family members, Pooja finally managed to convince them and returned back to India. She started studying for the tests and pursued her aspirations. However, it wasn’t a quick success.

Her first attempt didn’t go as she had expected. However, she did not give up and put in more effort and time for her preparation. All this while, her parents also stood by her and gave her all the support. Finally, all her hard work paid off and she secured an impressive AIR-174 on her second attempt in 2018.

According to an HT report, she is currently posted as an IPS officer in the prestigious Gujarat cadre. On the personal front, Pooja is married to IAS Vikalp Bhardwaj. It was at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie where the two officers crossed paths.

Vikalp is an officer from the Kerala cadre and a 2016 graduate. Apart from being a talented officer, Pooja is also an avid social media user and enjoys a huge fan base of 73.8K followers on Instagram. The IPS officer believes that social media is the most effective platform for public engagement and idea sharing.
