The IIT-JEE is said to be one of the toughest exams like the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE) in the country. The toughest exam demands a lot of dedication, focus, and strategy. Recently, an IIT-JEE aspirant’s daily schedule where he managed to sleep only for 4:30 hours went viral on social media.

There are scores of students preparing for the exam and it requires immense commitment from the aspirants in such a competitive world. However, studying throughout the day and sleeping only for 4:30 hours sleep can lead to health issues. So, it is equally important to balance between daily life and studies.

Amid the debate, popular IFS officer Himanshu Tyagi shared four useful tips that helped him during his preparation days.

Taking to X, Tyagi shared, “College 3rd year: Decided for GATE exam. Next year, result: AIR-06. How do you work toward your goals each day? Discipline. Consistency. No distraction. Writing from my IIT prep and college experiences.”

Below are the four tips shared by IFS Himanshu Tyagi:
1.    Mental Contrasting: Imagine how your life will change after achieving your goals. This will motivate you. Read success stories for motivation.
2.    Optimize your environment: Find out what distracts you from your goal, social media, friends or your habits? Remove all distractions so that you can focus solely on your goals.
3.    Believe in yourself: Look into your history. Determine instances in your life when you have excelled. If you can do it before, you can do it again.
4.    Turn inward: If you are ever distracted or overwhelmed, look inward. Instead of blaming others, consider, "What can I do now?"
