Rourkela: Rourkela district women Congress president Swarnalata Behera and her husband Pitabasa Behera were on Thursday arrested in an alleged cheating and forgery case.

Police said Swarnalata Behera along with her husband had collected money from several persons through self helf group (SHG) with promise to return the amount with high interest.

The persons who had deposited the amount with the organisation led by Behera complained before plant site police station today when they did not get back their money despite several approaches.

Police investigation into the case was still on.
