The prices of petrol and diesel continued to burn a hole in common man's pocket with the rates of the fuel increasing once again in Odisha on Friday after a brief pause of one day.

As per the latest report, petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 86 and 85 paise a litre respectively in the State. This is the third rise in the prices of fuel in the past four days.

With the fresh hike, petrol and diesel will cost Rs 104.55 and Rs 94.29 a litre respectively in the State Capital.

The price of fuel witnessed the highest increase at Kalimela of Malkangiri district in the State. While petrol is being sold at Rs 111.9 a litre, the cost of diesel is Rs 100.61 per litre in Kalimela today.

Meanwhile, the costs of petrol and diesel are Rs 110.11 and Rs 99.73 respectively in Malkangiri. Petrol is priced at Rs 105.7 and diesel is sold at Rs 94.87 in Sambalpur. Petrol is sold at Rs 105.50 in the Steel City of Rourkela. Similarly in Balasore, petrol is sold at Rs 104.32 and diesel is available at Rs 94.15.

Since the last few days, the oil companies have raised the fuel prices and as a result petrol and diesel have become costlier by Rs 2.77 and 2.67 respectively.
