Coimbatore: Voting the BJP to power in Tamil Nadu would ensure that the state is taken on the path of progress like Gujarat, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh or Himachal, senior party leader L K Advani said here today.

"Tamil Nadu has not been able to grow commensurate to potential. I want to see BJP/NDA rule by which it is taken to the path of progress like Gujarat, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh or Himachal and Chattisgarh, which are better than Congress and Communist Governments," he said at an election rally here.

Advani said he could gather from party workers that the `Lotus` (BJP`s symbol) would bloom in Nagercoil, where the Tamil Nadu unit president, Pon Radhakrishnan is contesting.

"I want the Lotus to bloom in Coimbatore city also, a place which cannot be wiped out from my heart," he said, referring to the serial bomb blasts targeting him in 1998, which killed 58 people.

Advani also referred to Kerala whose potential was not properly tapped despite the high literacy rate. Compared to Rs 74,000 crore worth IT exports in BJP-ruled Karnataka, Kerala`s IT exports were just worth Rs 2,400 crore, he said.

"We are able to give better governance and better growth.

I am confident that if BJP is voted to power, even at the Centre, no power on Earth can prevent the 21st century from becoming the century of India. We aspire for this."
