New Delhi: Welcoming the efforts made by anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, BJP on Saturday pledged its support to the Lokpal Bill once it is introduced in the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

"We will support that (Lokpal) Bill (during the Monsoon session)... BJP wants a corruption-free India and we welcome the efforts put in by him (Anna Hazare)", BJP president Nitin Gadkari said after addressing a CII seminar here.

Asked whether Hazare had taken the sheen away from the BJP, he said, "I don`t feel like that, I don`t look at it with a political viewpoint. Our party`s policy is to appreciate the good work done by any one."

On the issue of electoral reforms, Gadkari said, "We have appointed a committee headed by (L K) Advani, we are studying the electoral systems of different states and countries. We want a transparent democratic system by which we can get good person to be elected."

The BJP chief blamed wrong economic policies and bad governance for problems like inflation, unemployment and price rise.

"We need a correct economic approach by which we can change the socio-economic scenario of this country," he said.
