New Delhi: BJP on Saturday demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the wake of V K Shunglu committee blaming her for delays and losses in CWG projects and insisted that the anomalies related to the event be probed by the CBI to find out and punish the guilty.

"The fight against corruption in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha during the just-concluded budget session will now be taken to the people. Sheila Dikshit should resign from her post and a CBI probe should be ordered into all the wrong-doings in CWG," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

Asked about BJP`s new-found faith in CBI, which it has often described as the Congress Bureau of Investigation, he said, "It is true that whatever action CBI is taking is due to opposition pressure and when asked by the Supreme Court."

He maintained that BJP will follow the CBI`s functioning on a day-to-day basis.

"We have to see if the CBI takes the investigations to their logical conclusion," Javadekar said.

He referred to the tax-evasion case of Hasan Ali, saying CBI acted only after Supreme Court asked them why nothing was being done.

"CBI has acted too late. Now there is zero balance in Hasan Ali`s account. It is only after the court`s supervision that CBI is taking note. How ultimately they find proof and the way they file the chargesheet, we will wait and see," Javadekar said.
