Chennai: Pressing for a slew of demands including a strong Lokpal, the Tamil Nadu unit of the CPI (M) will stage week-long protests across the state from November 1.

Holding the Congress-led UPA at Centre responsible for the spiralling prices and other issues like frequent revision of fuel prices, CPI (M) state unit secretary G Ramakrishnan said that these badly affected the poor people.

The party will stage protests and agitation from November 1 to 7 across the state, pressing demands such as controlling prices, passing of a strong Lokpal, besides protesting against the proposal to allow foreign investment in retail trade, he said in a statement.
