New Delhi: The abduction of Malkangiri collector R Vineel Krishna figured in the Lok Sabha on Thursday with BJD member B Mahtab saying that the incident has showed the "hollow claims" of development.

"Krishna`s future is still in suspense...the kidnapping has exposed the hollow claims of development," he said during Zero Hour.

Describing development as an antidote to Left-wing extremism, he demanded that a bridge be built in the district to connect the tribal areas with the mainland.

He lamented that the Maoists had set the terms of negotiations and chosen the interlocutors and pointed out that the ultras started with two demands which have now gone up to 14.

Nripendra Nath Roy (AIFB) demanded setting up of a circuit bench of the Kolkata High Court in Jalpaiguri district.

Rajan Sushant (BJP) targeted the Congress for making comments against Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, saying an attack on him is an attack on nationalist forces.

Ramkishun (SP) demanded waiving of loans to weavers of Chandauli district as several of them had committed suicide due to their poor financial conditions. He said they should be given power at subsidised rates as is done for farmers.
