Biswajit Kasid has emerged as a messiah for cancer patients in Odisha.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that many cancer patients have got a new lease of life thanks to the incredible efforts of Biswajit.

The man from Odisha has donated granulocytes to cancer patients battling for survival for a record 12 times.

Apart from that he has also donated platelets to numerous patients battling fatal diseases in his life so far. Despite having the rare AB negative blood group, Biswajit has donated platelets for 183 times and thereby creating world record.

It is learnt that granulocytes are a type of white blood cell that has small granules. These granules contain proteins. The specific types of granulocytes are neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils. Granulocytes, specifically neutrophils, help the body fight bacterial infections.

Platelets are high in demand for patients suffering from dengue as it helps them build up their immunity.  Keeping this in mind, the ambassador of Platelets Donation Goodwill Ambassador Biswajit decided to donate platelets.

An IT professional by work, Biswajit started donating blood when he was barely 18 years. A few year later he joined the noble cause to donate platelets in 2013.

He has conducted more than 600 blood donation awareness seminars across worldwide. He was invited to Germany too to help people understand the importance of platelet donation.

He connects with youth and invites them to visit blood bank and encourages them to donate. He wants to create a massive group of platelet donors from the age of 18 to 25.
