Mumbai: Holi, the festival of colours was celebrated with much zeal and enthusiasm in the Bollywood, and several stars and starlets wished the fans on the occasion.

"Holi greetings to all. May the colors of the festive season infiltrate your life and make it even better," Megastar Amitabh Bachchan wrote on twitter.

Son, Abhishek Bachchan, said, "May all the negativity in your lives be burnt away by this Holika fire. Happy Holi."

Singer Lata Mangeshkar tweeted, "Wishing you and your family Happy Holi. May god fill your life with beautiful colours."

R Madhavan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Zayed Khan, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Lara Dutta, Shilpa Shetty, Urmila Matondkar and others wished everyone a happy and safe Holi.

Bipasha Basu said, "Enjoy the festivities today but also be very careful. Colors are not safe and the practice of throwing balloons on strangers is not fun. I have seen people and children ruthlessly attacking elderly people and animals with balloons which hurt pretty bad. How can it be fun...I don`t understand."

"Play a safe Holi so that one does not contract any disease," Actress Minissha Lamba said.

Mugdha Godse said, "I would just like to say that do not apply colour on those who do not like it. Have a mutual and safe Holi. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur tweeted, "Happy Holi to everyone. But would Holi be same without water? We may not have a choice soon, so save water."
