2 arrested for posting obscene video of Lok Sabha candidate on social media

Keonjhar: The Town Police on Wednesday arrested two persons on charges of posting obscene videos of a female Lok Sabha contestant on social media.

The two accused, Bishnudatta Barik and Jaydev Giri, were arrested based on a police complaint lodged by the uncle of the contestant.

Briefing media persons, Keonjhar SDPO Prakash James Toppo said that the two accused were trying to defame the LS contestant by posting clips of her intimate moments on social media.

“After preliminary investigation, we found the duo guilty of the offense and they were immediately arrested,” said Toppo.

However, Toppo added that the obscene video featuring the LS candidate is suspected to be fabricated. "We have sought assistance from Facebook authorities to give us details about the legitimacy of the photos and video," Toppo said.
