Google team to visit Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: An eight member team from Google headquarters in the US will visit Kashmir Valley next week to interact with students, IT professionals and amateurs here.

"An international team of eight members of Google from the US will be coming on Monday and they will attend an interaction session with the students, entrepreneurs and IT professionals here," organising group Mercy Corps` Kashmir head, Usman Ahmad, told PTI. He said around 800 people from the Valley will participate in the event – G|Kashmir – which will be held on November 3 at SK International Convention Centre here. "We had online bookings for the event and we closed it today," Usman said.

A first-of-its-kind event in Kashmir, G|Kashmir will provide students, businesses, marketing executives, techies, developers, entrepreneurs, and Internet enthusiasts a chance to engage directly with the "latest and greatest" from Google.

"The event will provide training on using digital tools to spur technology innovation, business and entrepreneurship in Kashmir," Usman said.
