DRDO conducted a successful test of the Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile from Chandipur, monitored by an IAF Su-30-Mk-I. Key systems performed as expected, showcasing advanced navigation and low-altitude capabilities.

The project is slated for completion by mid-2025.

The tests were conducted from a ground-based portable launcher from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha.

With the Tejas aircraft currently ruling Indian skies, India is now focusing on its future combat on AMCA or Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft. AMCA is the working name for India’s homegrown fifth generation fighter plane.

India, led by DRDO Chairman Samir V. Kamat, plans to export BrahMos supersonic cruise missile ground systems in 10 days, aiming for dispatch by March.

The flight-test was conducted against a high-speed unmanned aerial target at a very low altitude. The target was successfully intercepted by the weapon system and destroyed.
