Malkangiri: In a major haul, security men seized a huge cache of explosives, gadgets and documents hidden by Maoists in an inaccessible forest area of Malkangiri district today, police said.

On a tip-off, personnel of BSF, Odisha`s elite anti-naxal Special Operations Group (SOG) and police raided a temporary camp of the red rebels near Khalguda village in Mudulipada area, about 70 km from here, they said. Though the ultras present at the site fled after getting information about the operation, a huge quantity of explosives and other materials stocked by them was recovered, they said.

The seized materials included 98 electronic detonators, 24 gelatine sticks, some improvised explosive devices, two drums used for landmine and three tiffin bombs. A map of neighbouring Koraput district was also recovered from the site along with Maoist literature in Odia and Telugu, leaflets, posters and banners, they said, adding some gadgets including two cameras with flash and two radio sets were also found.
