BMC sweeper beaten up over petty issue

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, some unidentified persons beat up a Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sweeper in Salia Sahi here on Wednesday over a petty issue.

According to reports, some anti-social persons tied up the BMC worker and beat him up after having a heated argument over parking of a vehicle.

The drama went on for over an hour before Nayapalli police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the situation.

The local Corporator also intervened in the matter, sources added.

The police, with the help of the corporator, rescued the BMC worker and arrested four accused while launching manhunt to nab others, who are absconding now.
