Bhubaneswar: Three Maoists, including a woman belonging to the Kalinganagar Division, on Tuesday surrendered before police in Keonjhar.

The three rebels laid down their arms before DIG (Western Range) Yashwant Jethwa at office of the Superintendent of Police in Keonjhar today.

The gunning down of ultras during combing operations in the recent past and the state government’s rehabilitation policy to bring them back to mainstream has prompted them to surrender before police, the surrendered rebels said.

Of the three surrendered Maoists, the male Maoists have been identified as Lengra Tiria and Bel Purty.
