Relative held for raping minor girl in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A 42-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his niece in Lohia Nagar area here, police said today.

The incident occurred on Sunday night when two minor girls aged 8 and 11 years were lured from a wedding banquet hall by one of their relatives named Mahesh to a deserted house where he served both of them with sedative-laced cold drinks, Deputy Superintendent
of Police Ran Vijay Singh said.

He then raped the elder of the two who was then in an unconscious state. He also attempted to rape the younger girl but was unsuccessful due to commotion outside the house, Singh said.

The parents of the girls discovered both girls lying in an unconscious state in a nearby park around 2 AM on the intervening night police said.

After regaining consciousness the girls narrated their ordeal and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical examination.

Police arrested Mahesh after listening to the victims' description and examining video footage.
