8 associates of gangster Tito detained

Bhubaneswar/ Cuttack: Continuing its ongoing crackdown, the Crime Branch on Tuesday picked eight persons for their alleged links with arrested gangster Sayed Usman Ali alias Tito.

All the eight persons have criminal background and were picked from Cuttack following an intense operation by 10 teams of Crime Branch Special Task Force (STF).

Though the STF did not seek further remand of gangster Tito after he was produced before Kendrapara SJDM court yesterday, the investigating agency is now trying to bust the entire crime network by nabbing his associates.

Sources said all the detained eight associates are now being interrogated by a team of Crime Branch officials on what kind of links they had with Tito.

It is suspected that out of the eight detained persons, most of them allegedly involved in executing several crimes, running extortion racket and tender fixing on behalf of Tito.
