The Marsaghai police on Friday busted a criminal gang after recovery of nine ‘Astadhatu idols’ from their possession in Kendrapara district. The information was revealed to police while they were carrying out a probe regarding last week’s theft of electric materials worth Rs 50 lakhs.

As per police sources, the FIR was registered following a complaint from Moharana’s parents who alleged that a girl, who is said to be the girlfriend of the deceased, and her male friend are responsible for his death.
The victim, Manoj Sethi is reportedly a contractor residing in VSS Nagar area. He was rescued from a house in Gadakana on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
The joint team has also seized around 10000 plants cultivated on a 40-decimal land. The cost of the plants will be around Rs 60 lakh to 70 lakh, informed Excise Superintendent Ashok Seth.
According to sources, Seth wasn’t happy as Rinki’s family members were arranging her marriage elsewhere. So, he called Rinki to an isolated place where he killed her before dumping her body into the well, sources added.
