From June 23, Vehicles Without HSRP Will Attract Penalty, Warns Odisha STA

Vehicles without High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) will attract a hefty penalty in Odisha, as the State Transport Authority (STA) is all set to launch a special drive from June 23 against the violators. “As on June 7, 2023, a total of 40,93,608 vehicle owners have booked slot, out of which HSRP has been affixed in 35,87,577 vehicles. Lalmohan Sethi, the Additional Commissioner of Enforcement of the STA said that owners of vehicles should affix HSRP at the earliest to avoid penalty.

A goods train carrying coal derailed in Assam's Kamrup district on Wednesday, said railway authorities. The incident took place near Boko when 20 wagons of the coal-laden train jumped the tracks at Singra near Boko. However there were no injuries to anyone in the accident. The derailed wagons were at the centre of the train which had a total of 60 wagons, said a rail official.
