While the ED's Special Public Prosecutor Hiten Venegaonkar sought 8 days custody, Raut's lawyer Ashok Mundargi opposed it on various grounds, including the health problems of his client who was a cardiac patient.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday at 12 a.m. in connection with a prevention of money laundering case pertaining to the Rs 1,034 crore Patra chawl land scam case.
A team of ED along with a posse of police and Central security agency landed at Raut's Bhandup residence at dawn as part of the investigations into the Patra Chawl land scam case.
