For a married Odia woman, observing Sabitri Brata without her husband around is tough. And when her better half is battling for life, then it is excruciating. But these Sabitris have proved that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

The enforcement squad of Commissionerate Police today prevented women performing worships at some temples in Old Town area on the occasion of Sabitri Brata even as congregation of devotees at shrines across the State has been restricted in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

Clad with bright and colourful sarees, some members of the transgender community observed the holy festival in a subdued manner in the Capital City with strict adherence to Covid-19 norms
