Announcing the decision of the MPC after its three-day deliberations, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Thursday that the committee unanimously decided to keep the repo rate at 6.5 per cent.
They also said there are factors other than monsoon that influence inflationary trends and the increase in input prices for the manufacturing sector is a cause of concern.
It is pertinent to mention here that the RBI had announced the withdrawal of the Rs 2,000 banknotes from circulation through a notification issued on May 19, 2023.
