Addressing the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament of Jamaica on Tuesday, Kovind said: "Fifteen thousand kilometres away from India, I feel very much at home before you. And why should I not, when this House has many distinguished members with Indian lineage."
Two deputy chief ministers of Adityanath, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present during the meeting with President Kovind and Prime Minister Modi.
A communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan also quoted him as saying: "Let us dedicate ourselves to follow the path shown by Lord Ram and resolve to build a glorious nation."

In his short message, President Kovind praised Dwivedi's contribution in popularising Kabeer's works. He also emphasised on promoting Hindi as the language of mass communication.
