Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday announced that the government would be withdrawing the farm laws which the farmers had been protesting against for more than a year now. The decision was welcomed by the Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President, Naveen Patnaik.
Patnaik's counterparts from Assam, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, and Kerala also wished him on his birthday.
In a letter to four Chief Ministers including his counterpart from Odisha, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin requested them to allow the sale of firecrackers, which fall under the norms set by the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal (NGT), in their respective states during this Diwali.
