Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi and Congress leader and former cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Sidhu are in the same barrack in the Patiala Central Jail in Punjab.

The Congress leader suffers from medical conditions like embolism and has a liver ailment. In 2015, he underwent treatment for acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) at a hospital in Delhi.

The Supreme Court had Thursday sentenced Sidhu to one-year rigorous imprisonment in the road-rage case, saying any undue sympathy in imposing an inadequate sentence would do more harm to the justice system and undermine the public confidence in the efficacy of law.

The Supreme Court of India on Thursday imposed one-year rigorous imprisonment on Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu in a three-decade-old road rage case. 

Imran Khan was ousted from power through a no-confidence vote in the parliament with 174 members of the 342-member National Assembly voting against him in a high political drama.

Talking about the message he received, Singh said, "Message was that the Pakistan Prime minister has sent a request that if you can take Sidhu in your cabinet he will be grateful. He (Sidhu) is an old friend of mine (Pakistan Prime Minister) and if he doesn't work then you can remove him."

Responding to Sidhu's remarks, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya slammed the Congress high-command for favouring 'Pakistan loving Sidhu over veteran Amarinder Singh'.

Archana and her son Ayushmaan Sethi, recently shared a video on their respective social media profiles that took everyone by surprise. The video which was originally shot and uploaded by Ayushamaan showed Archana bare-faced without any makeup.

The letter to Sonia Gandhi reminded her of the party's 18-point agenda "given to the last chief minister" of Punjab and said that those were "equally relevant today".

"The government of Punjab means the security of India, and if Sidhu is made the face of the Congress for chief ministership, I will fight him at every step," Amarinder Singh said.
