The PM said adopting natural farming is also like serving Mother Earth, by protecting the quality of soil and its productivity.
The government is promoting natural farming through the Bhartiya Prakritik Krishi Paddhati (BPKP) introduced during 2020-21 as a sub-scheme of Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) for the promotion of traditional and indigenous practices, including natural farming.
The Finance Minister further said that Kisan drones will be used for crop assessments, land records, and spraying of insecticides to drive a wave of technology in the agriculture and farming sector.
"We need to strengthen the dairy sector. The Banas Kashi Sankul will benefit dairy farmers from several adjoining districts. The dairy plant will also have a bio-gas plant that will take care of its power needs. The dairy farmers will now be able to sell cow dung for the bio-gas plant at a good price," Modi said.
Along with natural farming, the role of indigenous cows too is very important, he said, adding, the land that needs less irrigation can better withstand droughts and floods.
