Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Lord Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar to offer prayers. Massive arrangements were in place at the 11th century shrine for the Home Minister's visit. Shah performed Jalabhishek at the temple.
All the nijogs of the temple like Brahman Nijog, Puja Panda Nijog and Badu Nijag agreed to extend their full cooperation for the smooth conduct of Maha Shivratri, which is one of the important occasions observed at the 11th century Lord Shiva shrine.
The decision on the entry of devotees into the shrine will be discussed later.
