Asia Cup
The much-awaited India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup is all set to be played on September 14. However, tickets of the fieriest rivalry, which is often booked months before the match schedule, is yet to be sold.
According to The Times of India, this is unusual for a fixture that normally draws full houses in no time.
With just about a week to go before the September 14 match, one of the main reasons cited for the slower sales is the very high ticket prices together with bulk or packaged sales that are seen to push costs up for average fans.
For example, the lowest cost ticket for two people is about Rs 10,000. On the higher end, a VIP suite East pair is priced at approximately Rs 2.5 lakh, which includes perks such as aisle seating, unlimited food and drinks, parking passes, VIP lounge access, private entrance and restrooms.
Other premium options include the Royal Box (around Rs 2.3 lakh), Sky Box (Rs 1.6 lakh), and Platinum level tickets which are going for Rs 75,659.
